DIY: Magnetic Photo Frame

Magnetic Photo Frame

Let’s get creative!

I found a stack of photos while cleaning a desk drawer this week. As I filtered through and reminisced, I realized the photos should be displayed proudly, not stashed away in a drawer. Sadly, the desk in my office has no room for any personal memorabilia. But I wanted to find a way to showcase these images. Rummaging through my craft bins, I stumbled upon a handful of magnets. How perfect for an office! After searching a bit longer I had enough materials to make a magnetic photo frame. [Directions below] Decorate it as you please. The magnetic photo frame is the perfect craft and favor for a birthday party or a holiday gift.

Materials:

  • 5.5″ x 8.5″ foam sheets (located in the kids craft section)
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Markers/Colored Pens/Glitter Glue/Stickers (anything to decorate your frame)
  • Magnets and glue

1. Select a 5.5” x 8.5 “ foam square. From the outside edge in, measure and mark a one-inch border.

2. Poke a hold in the center of the foam with scissors. Cut out the center rectangle, leaving only the marked border in tact.

3. Decorate the front of the frame with markers, pens and stickers, as you desire.

4. Flip over the frame and secure magnets to the back of the border with glue-all.

5. After glue dries, attach the magnetic frame to your refrigerator, or another magnetic surface, to showcase your favorite photos.
